100 African Folk Stories
100 African Folk Stories is a collection that depicts the various facets and events that characterise the African culture and way of life, presented in the various perspectives of at least 10 African communities. Your favourite folk stories are written in Ekegusii, Giriama, Kamba, Kikuyu, Kipsigis, Lisotso, Lumarachi, Luo, Maasai and Meru languages, with the English translation for each story in the collection carefully crafted to ensure that a platform for translation of these stories and lessons therefrom can hereafter be shared in as many additional languages as possible.
African education systems have been anchored upon the foundation of experiential and interactive content in the form of song, dance dramatization and folk stories. These have been structured to deliver selected lessons and convey desired messages, often couched in euphemism, humour and imagery. The wisdom of our ancestors has been shared and relayed from one generation to the next, and from one century to another orally, in the form of folk stories.
100 African Folk Stories is your ultimate fireside or travel companion and the ideal gift for all ages. Originality of the stories has been maintained to ensure the integrity of the content for both the original language and the English translation.
